White aluminium oxide abrasive is electrically fused in an arc furnace from Bayer processed alumina as raw ,ateroa;. Al2O3 content is generally higher than 98%. As compared with brown aluminium oxide abrasive, the toughness of white aluminium oxide abrasive is slightly lower, but it has better cutting characteristics. Abrasive articles made of it are suited for precision grinding of alloy steel and cutters. Abrasive powder of finer grit size can also used for precision casting.
